One downside is the noise from the street at night, which can sometimes make it difficult to sleep.

We had a lovely stay at a hotel in Basel. The rooms were warm and comfortable, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. We also enjoyed the convenient location, with transportation and the river promenade nearby.
